Pickled goodness Asparagus (L) Carrots and onion (M) Green beans (R)
I was able to can these in a water bath and not use my New pressure cooker. Was so very easy I am a lil mad at myself that I haven't done any canning before now. The FLAVOR is out of this world. Suppose you would have to be a dill pickle fan and I am, so its all good.
The Dill Recipe was also very easy to make, here is the recipe.
Dill GOODNESS
- 8 1/2 cup water
- 2 1/4 cups white vinegar
- 1/2 cup pickling salt
That's it really easy then you bring that liquid and salt to a boil for about 5 minutes
make sure your jars are cleaned and hot
add fresh garlic clove and a sprig of Fresh dill to each jar
Fill each jar with the goodies your going to pickle, then add hot liquid to the jars till you have about 1/4 inch headspace
Wipe down jar
put on lid and rings to hand tight
put jars in pot and completely cover them with water about an 1 to 1 1/2 inches above the tallest lid,
then bring to rolling boil for10 minutes.
Pull out Jars and place on towel or wooden cutting board to cool.
Told you it was easy, and you cant imagine how good these taste.
One thing I should mention though for the asparagus and the carrots I did cook in the hot brine for about 3-5 minutes just to make a lil less tough, but the green beans I added to jars uncooked.
