I've been growing Green onions in the window for about a month now and thought it was so great that I would put it here for you to see. The onions I'm showing have been harvested and used to make a large bowl of salsa already once but.. since they have been cut I thought I would try and record its progress.
First things first is you buy the green onions from the store. Cut off all the green and just leave the white with the roots. Put the whites in a lil container with some water and change the water maybe once a week. That's it. Your onions will grow, cut off the greens and then they will grow again.. Its amazing and if you love having green onions FRESH like I do you might want to try this to.

The blue is just a rubberband that was around the onions when I got them at the store.

I will try and update this page every day and show you how fast they really do grow. You just might be as amazed as I am :)

5/8 decided that it was time those poor roots had more room :)
5/9/11,
Now it might get a bit harder to see the growth difference but you get the point. Before long I will be cutting these off again and making a fresh batch of salsa. YUM YUM.
